Has Adam got it easy?
As alluded to in the previous post, Adam Spencer has been confirmed as breakfast host on 702 ABC Sydney. An interesting aspect of the ABC announcement is that Spencer will be on air from 5.30am to 7.45am. That's just two-and-a-quarter hours a day. Now, I know there's a lot of preparation - "show prep" in the biz - that time on air doesn't reflect, but his must be one of the shortest shifts in Australian radio. By way of comparison, Triple M Brisbane's The Cage with Ian Skippen runs from 5.30am to 8.30am (three hours); Nova 106.9's Meshel, Kip and Ash with Luttsy run from 6am to 9am (also three hours); 4KQ's Bob, Laurel and Handy Gary and 4BC's Peter Dick and Ross Davie start at 5.30am and finish at 9am (three and a half hours) and Marnie, Terry and Mark on 973Fm run a marathon from 5.30am to 10am (four and a half hours).
