| If you intend to make a submission on the Heritage Listing application for the Showcase cinema and surrounding area - and I urge you to do so - it must be lodged by July 6. If Heritage status is not granted, the beautiful Showcase (pictured), which comprises original plasterwork, fittings and other material from the1929 Regent auditorium, will be demolished! It’s a disgrace the way we are willing to let these lovely buildings to be knocked down and replaced with ugly new ones that have no class. They should embrace some of these grand old buildings. It’s the all mighty dollar I guess.
