Please email the Premier, Anna Bligh, and the owners of the Regent building ISPT (the email addresses are here) and tell them the Showcase cinema is one a a kind and must be saved at all costs.
The last of the grand palace style cinemas! Good to see the Dean Bros culture legacy is still alive and thriving sans Joe.
F.. It I aint ever going back to Brisbane. There's nothing left. No use fighting just get out
What is wrong with our state over the years we have lost so much heritage and here we go again. I remember going to that theatre on so many occassion with my grandmother, mother, to see so many things and walking up those stairs. Please don't let it go.
Ms Bligh is supposed to be working for the people but so many of the things she does in not in our best interest. Bulldozing the regent theatre is one thing that should not be done. Making it into another theatre is one idea i have heard being bounced around. Lots of people like going to see live theatre and this would have such great atmosphere. This building is such a lovely old building with a lot of character and history. Please don't knock it down.
