The history of the Regent, including events since its 1980 makeover, is presented in a beautifully compiled document here. Please take the time to read it and look at the pictures, then ponder what the State Government and the Brisbane City Council is prepared to sacrifice in the name of "progress".

Where are Mike Walsh, David Marriner and Geoffrey Rush now? All of these people have the resources, abilities and contacts to save the Regent.

It's very disappointing that in addition to our politicians that these big names do not appear to be following through on their early declarations of support.

How about an update from them?
