Last chance to see

Scaffolding is being raised around the doomed Elizabeth Street facade of the Regent Theatre, so this is probably the last view you'll get of it. Have a good, hard look at what the powers-that-be in Queensland are happy to see lost forever:

tears welled in my eyes when I saw it.

One day the conspiracy will unfold.

ONE DAY all will know.

YOU BASTARDS LIED & WE PAID YOU TO DO IT.

I really dont like living in QLD any more

We have no leadership. A state running around like a headless chicken.
DEVELOPER$ RULE!

an office block

How unbelievably sad that all this cultural heritage is destined for the dump, except of course for some scraps for the interpretive collage. Shame on multiplex. Shame on ISPT. Shame on John Wardell. Shame on everyone else involved including LABOR and our developer buddy NEWMAN!

demolition

Thank you Anna Bligh and co...you keep up that Qld tradition ! Let us not foget the Shingle Inn and others that have vanished in recent years.
Interesting to note, more of the actual 1929 Regent (which includes much of the to be destroyed Showcase stuff from original theatre , inner bar area, once located directly above) original walls, 1929 Facade) will actually be wiped out this time than back in the late 70s ! So every time the State Govt has reminded us of what Joh did for the place, perhaps they need to be reminded they allowed far MORE total destruction.

Heard on ABC radio news

Heard on ABC radio news today that Anna is looking for developers to renew the Old law courts site for hotel, conference centre or THEATRE.
